Day 2: We Come from the Same Soldier

So...Florida.

I woke up that morning and found myself pairing the state with words such as heat, humidity, and delusion. I didn't really know what was about to hit me when my cousin and I headed out to Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure.

Perhaps all the thrilling rides we rode with our fast passes helped the adrenaline rush. That's probably how you could explain how I managed to be a walking ball of sweat and energy. My cousin wasn't doing as well as I was. He was ready to crash once we hit Jurassic Park.
I had fun (needless to say). I got to meet Popeye & Olive.
...and I also cooled off by riding through baby man-made rapids.
AND, I finally got to see the Wizardly World of Harry Potter.
Let's just say that my devotion to wait for the ride involved worrying, losing my cousin, finding him again, and waiting in line for two hours. It was all worth it.

Day 1: Goodbye Tower of Heat, Hello Humidity

(I apologize for the photos...this laptop is incapable of sticking with a proper calibration)

Morning started at 3:40 for me after having about 30 minutes of sleeping time from the night before. We had a 7:00 am plane to catch and we weren't planning on missing it. After the stress between my aunts and uncles, everything simmered down to a lulling murmur of sleepiness that we all managed to fight before boarding.

We arrived half an hour earlier before expected. This was when time decided to slowly tick away. The afternoon was spent passing most of what was time. All I really did was stay under the shade, watch the kiddies play, and entertain my half wish of jumping into the five-foot pool with screaming children. Nothing much happened after but getting our hotel rooms, setting off the fire alarm, eating delicious dinner (steak, fresh corn, salad, and rosy wine), and zombified strolling in an outlet center where I managed to buy two books. Now that my head's officially a soupy mess...zzZzZZZZzzZZZzzz

The New Addiction...I Mean, Addition

They seemed different from what I remembered... I remember standing by my door trying to figure out whether it was the new car that made my family look different until I saw what my sister was carrying in my mom's beige bag.
His name is Buttons.

From what I gathered, my little cousin Jewel named him after describing the itty bitty kitty as cute as a button. He most definitely is a new addition to the family, as well as a holding the place as pet #4... if you want to count our fish individually. This cute little spazz of a critter seems to make my family (including myself, of course) happier...and more together.

For the past eight years, something has always been missing. From having about seven dogs, two cats, and a couple of huge fish all at once, it was a shock to become petless. And finally, we're back to being complete.
It almost feels like I have a brother to take care of.

Breather

It's my third day working for a fan photography company. Two more days to go and I can go back to photographing my own silly little things like my morning breakfast...

Updates about the job after Wednesday (:

OH...by the way, I officially have a fifth blog... it's on Tumblr . I basically put all sorts of inspiration I find on the web there. Eventually, I'll be scouting around NYC and taking snapies that will also jump start an idea.

Male Model Search

I'm currently on a mission to photograph more males since the male population in my portfolio does not exist.
And speaking of portfolio... my }website{ is starting have what my carbonmade has to offer. There are glitches here and there, but it will be fixed soon, I hope. I might have to demand for a refund if it's not fixed in time. On a better note, my }Model Mayhem site{ got some sort of face lift.

Anyway...
...if I need to place a blame, I would blame my favor on schooling. Going through more than enough single sex schooling than a normal person should have, I guess I have come to favor women more than men. And just to clarify, I do not mean that for all forms of relationships.

I'm in much need of styling, directing, and modeling practice with male models since my idea of shooting guys is dressing them up with suspenders and a newspaper boy hat. If anyone knows any guy that has touched upon the modeling business, or that would like to dabble with it, please send them my way!

Dress, Shorts. Shorts, Dress.

One of the dresses I've transformed since the beginning of the summer break. It still needs the lace I wanted to put as an accent on the sleeves but it's now more wearable than the way I bought it:

Also, I decided to alter pants since I had a couple that were lying around merely housing dustbunnies instead of keeping my other clothes company.

I now match my kitchen. Hooray!

I'm a little addicted to using my sewing machine than I've ever been. I might post more clothing alterations depending if my life gets a little bit more exciting.

Yo Ho Ho...What's This Show?

While Fuse plays its reruns of Gaga Overload/Gaga Takeover, I'm going to sneak in a couple of minor epiphanies that were graffitied on my clean, white sketchbook...

Break away now that you know how to be like everyone else.

Be innovative. React to your experiences and not just to the experiences happening around you.

They teach you how to obey and listen so you question the right things.

And maybe I'm a little late in the game, but someone has to be the follower to the leader.

Given that all these were written when I was in some sort of white-wine haze, but they still make some sense to me. Junior year of college was probably the best year to find out a lot about myself. It was also the year that I've fully embraced a number of things I've tried to push away for the last five years. I lost a number of friends and things along the way, and in exchange, have gained some sort of self-acceptance and recognition to what feels right and wrong. Now it's just a matter of becoming more innovative and to stay true to that peculiar little girl I've always been.

Cheers.
