Numsies

Mercedes and I ventured to the Public Market to get the goods. During the occasional times I've been there, I have always managed to time warp back to my childhood in the Philippines when my nanny would hold my hand as we passed through the smelly crates full of gaping fish, fly-attracted meat slabs, and neatly ranked veggies on display cases that towered over me. I've always loved going to the wet market with either my nanny or my mom...and well, things just never get old.

The pepper's name is Gigantus. See him and his brother }here{.

After One Smirnoff, I'm Looking Back...Already

A part of me admits that I miss school already- and by school I mean, last quarter.
Next year will be different. Not only have my closest and dearest friends graduated, but two of my best roommates have left me in the apartment.

I'll miss the Sunday night home work hauling we all did, the random bunny hops in the kitchen, late night chats, cookie devouring, the crying, the bitching, the annoyances and hissing, and even the random clouds of smells that only one of us would admit.
Excuse me when I say this, but I did have a wonderful apartment. I wouldn't have traded it for anything else.

Temps.

And so I gave into }carbonmade{ that has been calling me since my cousin Jenny invited me years ago.
Joiong.com is still under construction because I'm lame and can't make my own site.
Please visit my temporary portfolio site! As I wait for your feedback, I will sit here and play with my face:
like so.

Thanks (:

Whirlwind "Week 12"

And yet again, Pandora managed to remind that me there ain't no rest for the wicked. It's only been the fifth day of May and yet it feels like I'm running around holding my head on a polished silver platter. Then again, I doubt that being bored should ever be an option for me. I've always been saved one way or another...in some odd way, shape, and form.
Here's a breakdown:

Sunday was weeping day.

Monday, I can't recall. Michael and I probably watched Ponyo that day. Wait, scratch that. I watched Ponyo while Michael dozed off on the couch.

Tuesday and Wednesday: Assisting for John at Osher. Here's a test shot he ended up sending me:

I also got to meet Officer Wayne, one of the most awesome Public Safety officers we have on campus. And no, I did not do anything for him to arrest me. He helped me get to an ATM after they shut down the power for Global Village.

Wednesday into Thursday: Cat adventure. Long story short, my poor friend's cat Clyde hurt himself by knocking over a mirror. He was stitched, coned, drugged, and brought to my apartment. A couple more incidents and worries happened and as one might describe it, a literal mess in a sleepless night of "loopiness." He ended up staying for a night due to a less than pet-friendly living situation with neighbors knocking on the walls, things getting knocked down, and roommate visits. Thankfully, Meg and Michelle found a way to get Clyde to the vet's. Best option for a hurt cat, I would like to presume.

Thursday: Serious catnaps, bike fixing, and Totoro!

Friday hasn't been predicted yet, but needless to say that it'll be something.

"Testimonials of Fashion"

My good friend (and awesome make-up artist) Erica Brown invited me to come photograph the fashion show that she and a couple of fashion designers in Rochester were holding. They held it at the German House- a historic auditorium where meetings, parties, and other social events have been held since 1905. It was a privilege to be there and to even be surprisingly mentioned in the program.

One of my favorites from B'Yanet's set.

"In a Cut-out, Cardboard World"

Thank you Val for the title...

One of the couple outtakes I have for my last fashion class assignment...I hope the girls (and their parents) had just as much fun as I did!
Credit goes to Amy and her daughter Tess through Mary Therese's modeling agency; Robert and his daughter Sydney; Val who drew all the cutout animals I had on the shoot; Brooke who was there for the entire shoot, helping me transport things, assisting, and just being there for heavy moral support; and Aaron who did the make up.
The entire shoot was a wonderful team effort and I feel extremely fortunate to have amazing people help me out (:

(:

So far, this weekend has been filled with encouragement, random pats on the back, and episodes of blurting out how much I love each person I've drunk-hugged.

Soo today at around two, I headed towards a very empty student government gallery that had a number of awesome art work on the wall. I was overjoyed after Lee told me that she was going to enter my samples from the Circus series to the show.

Anyway, I got these from the Reporter banquet today:
It was random.
I probably sounded extremely stupid on the mic 'cause I was kinda sorta blushing.

I guess the shirt makes me slightly more official?

Friday: The SPAS Honors Show.
Our Simpsons photo won a Professor Ken White Award which was also cool:

And here's a random photo taken during the production in February:

The Simpsons team was probably one of the best groups I've worked in. I'm completely honored to be a part of such a group that was made up of such talented people.

She's in a Tub...Again.

And so began the adventures of Kat and Joi in a tub.
And no...your mother will not be offended.

Same girl. Same tub.
Just in water instead of coffee.

Every Sunday to Monday

The living room is usually occupied by our busy selves...and we're all usually about to throw a lot of things at the walls.

Kids at Imagine

Imagine RIT is usually proof that the school can be alive. I shot for Mosaically for about five hours before I dropped dead. It was tiring, but extremely fun.

Needless to say that children were just about everywhere.

Thanks to Sopphey for awesome mapping and planning (:
