A Thought for Food

Hello Rochester.
With the snow globe weather the entire New York state seems to have, I don't think I'll be heading back to Queens. Part of me longed to go back while the other part has the burden of being indifferent. If I were to go back, I plan on walking into people's studios with my temporary portfolio, resume, and cover letter. If not, I'll manage to keep myself busy here with cleaning, writing, and sewing. And photographing, of course. I plan on taking shots of every "meal" I have. An example would be my breakfast today:

Asian, I know.

It's a start, I guess?
Food photography is one of those nooks that I haven't fully explored yet. The hell with the food photos I took in high school- they look worse than 1970's food photography.  Anyway, I'll take this time to prepare for my food photography class. I might be able take advantage of all the light bouncing off the huge snowy slate of land behind my apartment.

iMAC back :D

So.
My iMac's finally back from being 20 minutes away from me at Eastview. With Brooke and Szkotak's help, I brought it to the Apple store.
I am overjoyed to say that baby's fixed now. No more ominous dead pixel line going across my screen! Being the nice person that he is, Michael Conti took me back to the mall in this craptacular weather. I bored him with contradicting stories and he tried to kill me thrice. I say it's a fairly good exchange.
Here's his PJ-ness at Mendon Ponds Park.

Still being roommates.

Artsy Von Fartsy

 Reading love letters, poems, and other miscellaneous writings from our memory boxes.
Oh and being the dorks that we are, we were getting waaay into it.

The Simpsons Shoot: Behind the Scenes

Video by Kate McGann and Eric White.

~~~
Step by Step
Whenever I feel emotionally off, I end up spending money. That's not to say that I ridiculously impulse-buy (um...), but I do end up getting little things for myself. This bad habit was born over last summer and it's (unfortunately) continuing to grow.
Anyway as Brooke and I hopped from store to store returning props like the ad photo students that we are, I ended up walking away from Kohl's with two things:
...a copy of the very first book I read from start to finish...
...and a stuffed character from Dr. Seuss's If I Ran the Circus.
Money went to Kohl's Cares for Kids so I don't feel all that guilty for spending $10.80.
See...you can always turn bad situations into awesome ones (:
The Simpsons: Maggie and Me
Today was the big day for our Production shoot. I was fortunate enough to work with amazing people in the Simpsons group. Despite the long production, I feel as if we've walked out of North Light satisfied...enough.
Videos taken by my awesome friend and iPhone vid savvy Brooke Vandever:
Sleeping Beauty
Special thanks to Jackie Connor and Thomas Warfield for letting me and Michael shoot (:
Latest attempt to anything close to PJ.
I was completely out of my element, thrust into an event where lighting is not fully controlled by the shooter. However, the awesome-ton of cloth and fabulous costumes in EVERY performance helped this former ballerina feel at home.
{Pretty (floating) things = visual orgasm}
I hope they like these snapshots...
.
{A couple that I felt like editing.}
There were times when I would look up and watch for five seconds, completely forgetting that I was working. The company did a wonderful job and I MUST see it again.
The Reporter
(:
The Reporter. Images found here.
I owe it to Michael Conti and Steve Pfost.
Four days of "madrushing" for the entire production was worth it.
Waiting
In terrible need of a blurred weekend full of vanity.
No poetics here, just sleepiness and a need to unwind.
Let Friday come please.
Picture from HERE.
A little cuteness to spark up my day. All thanks to my awesome friend Amanda Hoffman.
(Taking a break from my life and doing paperwork. Kind of.)
Since the beginning of winter quarter, I've been working in productions, some of my own, some for my other photo class. It's been absolutely amazing, but my studio-bipolarness is hitting. For the remainder of the week, I'll be shooting for RIT's Art is Smart campaign. Its goal is to bring awareness to how the world could be like without art majors. I was hauled in by Lee Fitzgerald and Sarah Sugarman to do the photography. I hope I don't fail them!
